The 3rd trip in Bricia

A new bidwatching trip, round the area of Bricia region and water reservoir of river Ebro with a 54 species recorded in only four hours in the morning.

We saw the ouk forest the pastures and farmland areas and a little area of the water reservoir near of the San Vicente de Villamezan village.

We saw the follow list of birds

2nd Bird Census in VN4040

The last season of the census of breeding common birds, (European Bird Census ), in square VN4040, 63 species of birds in 2010 (two tours). A total of 96 species in twelve years.
Four new birds for this square, Common Quail, Common Pochard, Marsh Tit and Great Cormorant.

New trip in region of Bricia

Again in the region of Bricia and again searching Lesser Kestrels and again without find any.

Even so a good day of birdwatching with 44 species, and a good number of birds, we saw flocks of House Martins and smaller flocks of Barn Swallows and Common Swift, all of them in active migration towards Africa.

In the water reservoir of the river Ebro, at the beginning of the migration, little numbers of birds.

But, some interesting records, Purple Heron a juvenile bird, Ruddy Shelduck and the first little flocks of Black-necked Grebe

Trip to Bricia Region

-->In the region of Bricia are several and different habitats, forests of oaks, peat bogs, pastures and is next to the reservoir water of the river Ebro.

A very hot day, but we have been a very good birding day, with 52 species recorder.

We did not see Little Kestrels, one of the objectives of the trip.

It is to emphasize the presence of a Black Stork in San Vicente of Villamezán village, Montagu’s Harrier in the high zones, and in a section of oak forest near Higón village, we observed the 6 species of Tits present in peninsular Spain.
