Money for nothing

The Capercaillie is one of the more threatened species of Spain.
A few hundreds birds survive in the Cantabrian cornice.
Again an economic investment to try to save this emblematic species.

Without a doubt, that million Euros will not be reversed in paralyzing projects of ski resorts, nor new infrastructures, although this is what possibly more it affects the loss of habitat of the capercaillie and the survival of this specie.

Red Kite in Burgos

After the negative information about the situation of the Red Kite in Spain (http://northbirdspain.blogspot.com/2009/02/red-kite.html ), the last year a census was realised in the province of Burgos, with a total of 3,056 birds. (http://es.groups.yahoo.com/group/BurgosAves/message/2971).
Now, for season 2010-2011, a biweekly census is being realised, to see the evolution of different roost places.
The first report already is available and it is possible to be consulted here - PDF file.         ( http://www.avesdeburgos.com/anuario/Dormideros-Milano/CM_Oct-Nov051110.pdf )
